Ebooks, HTML, Ipods, LCD's, HD Er DVDS . . . Oh yes, I'm a techno-savvy, 21st century gal, rollin' with the times. ;-)
Okay, okay, so I'm not quite what you might call a bonafide Techie, but I certainly do appreciate the wonders of modern-technology.
Hence my choosing to present you gorgeous people with this, my very own creation of uber chic and cosmopolitan digital media.
I'm not going to take it for granted that you know exactly what I'm on about, because I know that lots of people have yet to discover the delights of the publishing industry's latest baby, so allow me to give you a very brief, very 'Steph' explanation . . .
The Entertainment industry is booming with digital media at the mo, we download our tunes and movies from the Internet, share them, store them, enjoy them on clever devices at our own convenience and it's the same with our photo's, all digital, all easy, all convenient. Well it would seem that the wonderful world of publishing is now no exception.
Electronic books - 'ebooks' are fast exceeding their hard-back, tangible book counterparts in sales and popularity, and I can totally see why.
For starters you can get your manicured mitts on an ebook in a matter of moments, simply by clicking a little button, which is perfect for an impatient gal like me.
Secondly they're cheap as chips because you're not paying for expensive printing and delivery. Your dosh won't go to scores and scores of departments, but instead directly to the author, who's hard-work and passion has single handedly created the work in the first place.
You can download ebooks to read on your P.C, phone, e-reader or other fancy and fabulous portable device. So you needn't waste valuable hand-bag space with bulky books any more.
Of course you cannot display your ebooks on a shelf, though you can create your very own virtual library, in which to store your books.
And it's good for the environment too, because it's all created digitally, no paper, no ink, no dust. Just words ;-)
